About me

I'm Berto Vaissiere. Painting is what I do best, and what I enjoy most. I trained as a painter under a master painter, and learned carpentry, plastering and tiling working alongside builders over many years. So on most projects I can handle the bulk of the work myself, and bring in local plumbers and electricians I trust when the job needs them.

I can take on a full renovation — including a derelict house turned into a home or a beach residence. Have a look at the gallery to see what that looks like in practice.

I take my time. I work clean, I show up when I said I would, and I finish what I started. The result has to look good and hold up. I guarantee my work.

I'm easy to deal with. I listen, I tell you straight what I can do and what I can't, and I keep you in the loop until the keys are back in your hand.

What I do

Painting is my specialty. On renovation projects I also handle carpentry, plastering and tiling myself. For plumbing and electrical I bring in licensed local trades I trust — and I run the site, so you only have one person to deal with.

Interiors and exteriors. Houses, holiday homes, shopfronts, period buildings. I spend the time on preparation — that's where a good paint job is made — and I work clean. Brush, roller or spray, whatever the job calls for.

Patching, sheeting, cornices, set finishes ready for paint. Ceilings and water-damage repairs.

Carpentry

Doors, skirting, architraves, decking, timber repairs, simple cabinetry fit-outs. Built so it stays right.

Tiling

Bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, outdoor floors. Honest layouts, clean cuts, straight grout.

Full renovations

Kitchens, bathrooms, room conversions, whole-house transformations. Including the bigger ones — a derelict house brought back as a home or a beach residence. I do the painting, plastering, carpentry and tiling myself, and coordinate licensed plumbers and electricians. One quote, one contact, from start to handover.

Roofing — occasional

Re-bedding, pointing, leak fixes, flashing, gutters. Not my main game, but happy to look at it when you need it done.

Handyman & holiday-house maintenance

The smaller fixes around the house, plus regular maintenance on big holiday houses — paint touch-ups between bookings, decks tended, doors and screens kept right, the salt-air list that creeps up on a place by the sea. Worth a call if you own a holiday home down here and want someone local keeping an eye on it.

What I don't do: new builds from scratch, plumbing, electrical. I'm not licensed for those. I'll happily point you to people I trust.
